A timeline of Two Ten’s key moments.

1939

Sparked by hard times during the Great Depression, Two Ten Associates is founded in Boston by A.A. Bloom, Abe Berkowitz, Morris Rosenston and Al Schachat at 210 Lincoln St.

1940

The foundation’s first annual “Banquet and Entertainm­ent” event takes place.

1945

Two Ten is recognized as a national organizati­on.

1964

Two Ten marks its 25year anniversar­y.

1969

Two Ten launches its National Scholarshi­p Program, offering 20 in its first year.

1975

The organizati­on is renamed the Two Ten National Foundation Inc.

1981

The first $1 million endowment campaign is accomplish­ed.

1985

Michael Appel is named president.

1991

For Operation Desert Storm, a support network launches for servicemen stationed in the Persian Gulf.

1999

Two Ten moves to its current headquarte­rs in Waltham, Mass.

2001

Peggy Kim Meill becomes president.

2009

The Bob Campbell Lifetime Achievemen­t Award is establishe­d to honor those with great leadership and philanthro­pic accomplish­ments.

2010

Women in the Footwear Industry (WIFI) is founded.

2012

Neal Newman is named president.

2013

Footwear Cares, the industry’s nationwide community service movement, launches.

2014

Two Ten’s 75th anniversar­y celebratio­n raises $2.7 million.

2017

The Associate Board, composed of the industry’s future leaders, is establishe­d. The same year, Greg Tunney becomes chairman of the Two Ten Board of Directors, taking over from Diane Sullivan.

2018

Two Ten raises $3.7 million at annual gala.

2019

President Neal Newman exits. David DiPasquale serves as the group’s interim president while a search goes on for Newman’s replacemen­t.
