Absolutely, Positively Committed to Diversity and Inclusion

-

Every day, more than 340,000 Fedex team members worldwide come together around a single mission: to give customers the best experience. Customers depend on this diverse team and network to provide fast and reliable service to every U.S. address and more than 220 countries and territories.

Recognizing that a key aspect of any successful strategy is effective leadership, Fedex leaders make sure that a diverse and inclusive culture remains a core value within the company’s DNA. Diversity and inclusion is therefore evident in the Fedex recruiting, hiring, training and promotion practices; communications programs; community involvement and charitable contributions; and the amount of business the company does with minority- and women-led suppliers.

Diversity and inclusion are further enhanced through diversity councils as well as affinity networks and business resource teams that include African- American, Asian, Cancer Support, Hispanic, LGBT, Multi-faith, Multiethnic, Women in Leadership and U.S. Military Veterans groups.

The Fedex culture also includes a strong “promotion from within” philosophy resulting in 98 percent of the company’s officers being promoted from within. The company’s commitment to investing in the future workforce is seen through such programs as the UNCF, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the National Council of La Raza Lideres program, the Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund, the National Urban League’s Youth Summit, INROADS, and other educational and career preparedness initiatives.

The three Fedex officers who are members of The Executive Leadership Council are also committed to “paying it forward”—giving back to the community and modeling the way for the next generation of diverse corporate leaders.
