After college, Rich briefly tried his luck in pro hockey, playing as the backup goalie for the Buffalo Bisons in the American Hockey League. In 1964 he joined his dad’s company, Rich Products, which had early success with its nondairy whipped cream. Today it sells cakes, icings and pizza dough. Rich has served as chairman of the $3.9 billion (sales) company since 2006.
