Chaudhry grew up in a tiny village in the Himalayas in India, where there was no electricity until he was in eighth grade and no running water until he was in tenth grade. His first time on a plane: a one-way flight to the U.S. to attend the University of Cincinnati in 1980. Before founding cybersecurity software firm ZScaler in 2008, Chaudhry started four other tech companies that were all acquired. ZScaler went public in March 2018, and its shares have since doubled; he owns a 46% stake.
