JIM BREYER

A longtime partner at Silicon Valley’s Accel, through which he bet early on Facebook, he started Breyer Capital in 2006 and has invested in AI startups. He is now also co-chairman of IDG Capital, a China-focused VC firm. While at Stanford in 1982, he sent his résumé to Apple’s Steve Jobs, who forwarded it to the VP of marketing. He was hired for the summer (Breyer, in the No. 42 jersey, pictured with friends in Menlo Park during those months) and stayed on to work part-time while he was in college.
