Berkshire Hathaway board member “Sandy” Gottesman met Warren Buffett in 1962 and placed an early bet on the Oracle of Omaha. He now has a stake of more than $2 billion in the company. Gottesman founded his own investment firm, First Manhattan Co., in 1964, which now manages over $21 billion in assets.
