Pritzker returns to The Forbes 400 after five years thanks to an early investment in Juul. The e-cigarette maker was valued at $38 billion after tobacco major Altria acquired a 35% stake in December.

Forbes estimates it is worth less now after several deaths from vaping and a possible federal ban of flavored e-cigarettes. Active in California politics, Pritzker backed ballot initiatives to ban high-capacity gun magazines and to legalize marijuana in 2016; voters approved both.
