The crypto billionaire cofounded online mortgage lender ELoan in 1996 and peer-to-peer lender Prosper in 2005. He launched blockchain company Ripple Labs seven years later; it now counts American Express and Santander as clients. In May 2018, some XRP token investors filed a class action lawsuit, alleging that Ripple sold its digital tokens as unregistered securities; Ripple has filed to dismiss the case. In April, Larsen and his foundation gifted $25 million, largely in XRP, to San Francisco State University.
