DOUBLE SHOTS
Those who love Scotch and tequila (usually) know better than to mix the two when drinking. Thankfully, the same isn’t true for distilleries. In 2019, the Scotch Whisky
Association relaxed its rules to allow brands to age the spirit in casks formerly used for tequila. First up is Chivas Extra 13 Tequila Cask ($45), which debuts in July. And if you prefer the opposite twist, Don Julio Reposado Double Cask ($65) is matured in ex-Lagavulin casks. Either
way, you get hit with both barrels.
