EDWARD “NED” JOHNSON III

(1930–2022) Johnson, 91, was one of 30 billionaires who died in the past year. He took over Fidelity from his father in 1977 and ran it for 37 years, transforming the Boston-based firm into one of the largest U.S. money managers. His daughter Abigail succeeded him as CEO in 2014.
