(1930–2022) Johnson, 91, was one of 30 billionair­es who died in the past year. He took over Fidelity from his father in 1977 and ran it for 37 years, transformi­ng the Boston-based firm into one of the largest U.S. money managers. His daughter Abigail succeeded him as CEO in 2014.
