There are those that do business. And there are those who do more. Dijana Popic—a woman driven to discover what’s next in an already notable career—is the latter. A licensed mortgage broker by trade, Dijana has expanded her roles to include business owner, real estate investor and developer, mentor, and mother.
But to get to where she is today, it’s important to start at the beginning. As both an immigrant and a refugee, Dijana moved to the U.S. with her family after being displaced by the Bosnian War in the 90s. These years were formative to her work ethic and drive, as she learned English as a second language and completed high school in the American education system.
From decisively choosing her educational background in Business Management to securing her U.S. citizenship, this pattern of facing any challenges head-on is a common theme throughout Dijana’s life.
One of her proudest achievements is Unibell Financial Inc., the brokerage Dijana founded in September of 2003. As one of the dozen medium-sized traditional brokers in Colorado that have been open for nearly 20 years, Unibell was able to weather the Great Recession and grow into leading the nation’s top one percent of the market with competitive mortgage products.
Recognized by the Inc. 5000, Unibell’s growth and significant revenue increase have been driven by the dedication of Dijana and her team. With a focus on setting new standards in the real estate industry, the work Unibell and Dijana are doing together could revolutionize the financing market for all of Colorado’s 6,000+ brokers.
However, her interest in finance and real estate extends beyond Unibell, as she has continued to develop her business reach and expertise throughout the years. Before the age of 30, Dijana built a real estate portfolio worth $40 million for herself and investors after starting with little to no initial capital.
This significant achievement has driven Dijana’s ventures to include ownership of multiple commercial and residential properties in Colorado, land investments and development opportunities in the transportation and service industries, and recognition from both Forbes and Five Star Professionals.
As she looks to the future, Dijana plans to apply her wealth of experience and acumen on a global scale. Driven by the opportunity to gain knowledge, build relationships, and create beautiful experiences, she is currently working on a development opportunity in Tulum that will firmly cement her role as a real estate investor and developer on an international level.
