Dr. Lyndon Haviland’s journey in public health started while volunteering at a women’s shelter in Washington, D.C., where she witnessed the fragility of the social safety net firsthand. This experience led to a career of championing human rights and fighting for equitable access to healthcare both at home and abroad. “The harder the problem, the more attractive it is to me,” says Lyndon.
