Forbes

Forbes Premium

- — RANDALL LANE, CHIEF CONTENT OFFICER

For more than a century, hundreds of thousands of people each year have paid for Forbes in its printed form. That’s because the magazine delivers things that justify the expenditure: great journalism, deliberately assigned, reported and edited, then carefully curated and beautifully presented.

Journalism’s magazine model became synonymous with print because until recently, that was the best technology to deliver it. We still put in a huge effort to deliver a great print product, with no intention of stopping anytime soon, but we also create that Forbes magazine experience—thoughtful, edited, beautiful journalism—daily online. Starting this year, we’ve made it much easier to take it in. Under the new Forbes Premium umbrella, pretty much all our beat reporters’ content now has a clearly denoted digital home, including scoops, analysis, profiles—the stuff you can’t find anywhere else. A digital Forbes Premium membership gets you access to all this proprietary work, plus access to events, exclusives and the like, every day.

Unlike most sites like ours, we’re not going to paywall everything. It’s still free to access hundreds of smart new takes from our 2,500 or so contributors, breaking news updates, dynamic videos and incisive newsletters. But there’s another level of indepth reporting worth paying for, as it has been within the magazine for nearly 110 years. We hope you’ll see fit to become a member. It’s a suite of journalism that will definitely make you smarter and, we hope, wealthier too. It’s also an investment in media you can trust, as the healthiest and safest model to create it, by far, is through people who value it enough to pay for it directly, versus the

“free” sites that try to monetize journalism with eyeballs. Thomas Jefferson famously noted that we get the government we deserve. That’s true of our media too. Through Forbes Premium, we resolve to return that trust, and deliver you the best.
