Frisco, Texas Is Where Companies Go To Win

-

When businesses choose Frisco, Texas, they tap into an essential resource: the talent they need to grow. With its safe, walkable communities, abundant outdoor trails and top-rated public school system, it’s a city that attracts top performers.

By attracting and retaining sought-after professionals, Frisco offers employers a competitive edge. Major corporations such as Keurig Dr Pepper, the PGA of America and TIAA already call Frisco home, and momentum continues to build. Frisco Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) president Jason Ford said the city has achieved “two back-to-back record-breaking years for corporate relocations and expansions.”

In 2022, Frisco landed more than 16 projects, creating more than 5,600 new Frisco-based jobs. In 2023, that number was surpassed with 17 new projects, and already this year, two global brands have announced Frisco-based expansions: Brazilian tech company Zallpy Digital and global startup investor Plug and Play.

Frisco’s impressive development story is no accident; community leaders work to ensure that the city is as liveable for residents as it is appealing for business. According to data from SmartAsset, Frisco is the safest city in the U.S. and the number one choice for remote workers in Texas. Frisco features 50 master-planned parks, 75 miles of hiking and biking trails and five major mixed-use developments. Ford said the city’s economic prosperity is beneficial for everyone because business growth improves residents’ quality of life.

Much of the city’s magic stems from its sports heritage: Frisco is known as “Sports City USA.” Whether it’s the 91-acre Dallas Cowboys world headquarters or the National Soccer Hall of Fame, there is something for every sports fan in Frisco. With a dozen professional sports teams and organizations and five world-class sports destinations, the city is also home to the PGA of America and some of the country’s most prestigious sports medicine research centers. Truly diverse in its sporting profile, Frisco is also a leader in digital gaming and the number two metro in the country for esports.

“As part of our proactive business attraction strategy, we identify the best companies that will excel in Frisco,” Ford said. His team is “allin” on the business opportunities they cultivate as the FEDC strives to build relationships that last decades. “When a corporation chooses Frisco, they officially become a part of the team,” Ford added. “Joining ‘Team Frisco’ means gaining a powerhouse alliance devoted to your business success. The FEDC, Frisco Chamber of Commerce and city leaders, education and workforce partners work together to ensure that your business performs at the highest level in Frisco.”

The robust talent pipeline that underpins this city’s success includes twice the national average of technology workers. Combine remote workers who choose to live in Frisco because of its lifestyle advantages, the two million-strong available workforce and the future talent graduating from the region’s University of North Texas and Collin College every year, and you have a recipe for exponential growth. “When a corporation chooses Frisco, our higher education partners work with them to create market-driven degree programs to ensure they have the talent and workforce they need long-term,” Ford explains.

Frisco is home to six major corporate innovation and R&D centers and is a hotbed for strategic investment opportunities. “Our mayor gave the FEDC a moonshot goal of becoming the Venture Capital Capitol of the Central U.S. by 2040, and we are well on our way,” Ford added. Mayor Jeff Cheney often refers to Frisco as a “city-wide innovation lab.” Not only does the City of Frisco pilot smart city technologies, it is also home to more than 500 tech firms, including nearly 400 startups.

At the FEDC, job number one is creating new jobs. Companies choose Frisco to find the talent they need to grow, and employees stay because of the opportunities. Ford said it’s an undeniable “best of both worlds.”

“The strategy is simple but effective: winners want to be around winners,” Ford said.
