A former pro soccer player, Kavanaugh was on the 1984 U.S. Olympic team. Six years later, at 27, he cofounded IT provider World Wide Technology in St. Louis. To fulfill one early order on time, he rented a truck and drove 500 PCs six hours to Omaha. Today, at 56, he’s CEO of the $10.4 billion (sales) company, with a 38% stake. He’s also part-owner of the St. Louis Blues hockey team.
