LASTING IMPRESSIONS by Mitchel P. Roth CONVICT COWBOYS
Board members highly anticipated the introduction of “Money the Hard Way,” an event already popular at the Oklahoma (Prison) Rodeo. In this event a Bull Durham bag containing $50 was tied to a Brahma bull’s horns and he was turned loose in the arena, where several dozen cowboys vied to capture the sack. Whoever separated the sack from the bull could keep the money. One board member noted, “I understand this is a real pleaser.” Hard Money did indeed become an instant success and one of the most popular events.
