ing tough competition, one player agreed that yes, of course they would play, and after a couple hours the pool light finally, was turned off for a few hours.

Jack “The Ripper” wants to come to town to play some pool. He likes one-pocket play and is intrigued that the “Old German” that lives here likes one-pocket also. Jack plays 9-ball and 8-ball as well, but just doesn’t know anyone in Fort Bragg.

Sam, if you are looking for “real competition,” I think Jack could provide it in spades. If anyone else wants to give Jack a chance to play, we should work it out to get him there.

With the internet, videos, and books on pool, there is really no excuse for not knowing the “proper” stance, grip, and stroke, as well, how to aim, bank or kick balls. If you have a straight stroke, you will probably play a pretty good game. The best shot for determining how your stroke is doing is a straight shot. One way is to place a ball in the exact center of the table, and draw a straight line from a corner pocket to the other corner pocket. Dental floss works well, because you want it close to an exactly straight.

Line the cue ball up along that line, remove the floss. The idea is if you can make the ball and have the cue ball stop without spinning or moving out of line, you are hitting center cue ball with a straight stroke.
