Lena went to the Catholic schools in Monterey California but had to quit after the ninth grade to help support her large family of 11 siblings. She worked in the fish canneries along with several of her siblings.

It was there that she met Anthony J Carine when he was there on leave from the army. They were married in Fort Bragg October 21, 1945. Several years later they adopted two children a boy and a girl to whom they were very proud to tell everyone.

Lena was a hard worker, she worked in the laundry‘s as well as restaurants until she retired.

Tony and Lena walked to town several times a week because they both loved to walk. Sometimes they took their granddaughters to Goodie’s ice cream restaurant.

She lost the love of her life Anthony J Carine, December 18, 1998.

She will always be remembered by her family as making sure they had plenty to eat and they put their coats on if it was cold outside (till the very end).

Lena is now dancing with Tony to an Italian love song. Rest in peace mom. We love you and you will be missed.
