Cue Tips: Anything is possible

-

Rack ’em up!

Dan Casteel said that weeks before any League games were played, “Milano team

# 1 was going to be a top-rated team in the Spring League.” Well, he was right, but he forgot to include Milano team # 2. Oh yeah, Team # 2 has some youth and energy. Combine youthful energy with old-timers like “Big John” and Mark Wilson, and anything is possible. John is pleased to have been invited to play for Milano and is trying extra hard to do well for the team and Captain Shayleen Chorley. In just a few short weeks, Shay has become well respected as the first Captain of Milano Team # 2. This year is the first time, in the bar’s history, having a pool table, let alone two Fort Bragg Pool League teams to represent them! Milano Team # 1 is tied for first place and is one of the dominating teams this season. This Spring League is turning into another great season of competitive play with the new and different players on the teams. Good luck, everyone!

CUE TIP » Do you know what type and the degree of spin to put on the cue ball? When playing a game, it can be hard to judge how effective or the degree of spin the cue ball is deflected after contact on an object ball. You might consider spending time on a table just playing the cue ball. That may help you learn fast to hit the cue ball and get the spin you are looking for. You may learn the actual results a quarter, half, or full tip of left or right spin makes faster. How about using reverse spin? Reverse spin is a vital tool to learn for kicking a ball or trying to hit your ball when you cannot hit the cue ball directly. Playing just the cue ball will help you learn precisely where to hit that cue ball in an actual game. Learning where to hit the cue ball is essential for playing well in pool sports.
