Covid Vaccines, Boosters, and Testing
Mendocino Coast Clinics offers drive-through vaccine clinics every Tuesday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the white tent at 205 South Street in Fort Bragg for anyone aged 12 and up. No appointment is needed. First dose, second dose, and boosters are all available. Parental consent is required for anyone under 18 to receive a vaccine.
COVID vaccines are available by appointment for children ages 5 to 11. Call (707) 964-1251 to schedule your child’s vaccine.
COVID testing for people who do not have symptoms is available at the white tent at 205 South Street from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. No appointment is needed. These tests are shipped to a central lab for processing, and results are usually available from 72 to 96 hours after the tests are received at the lab.

The Adventist Health team has Moderna and the J&J vaccines all available through the Primary Care team located at 721 River Dr., Suite A in Fort Bragg. To make an appointment, call the Adventist Health offices at 707-961-4631 and press option 3 to set a time and date available to receive yours.
Montessori del Mar Community School Holds Annual Community CleanUp Fundraiser
Throughout the month of March until April 1st, 2022, Montessori del Mar Community School (MDMCS) is holding its annual Community Clean-Up event. Students of MDMCS and their families will pick up trash found on beaches, in forests, and towns from Albion to Cleone in an effort to take care of our community and the planet. The event ends on April 1st, with a school-wide cleanup day in downtown Fort Bragg. Please support MDMCS, the only independent Montessori school in Mendocino County, by sponsoring one of our students in this Community CleanUp. Your generous support helps us provide reduced tuition to over half of our students. Individual sponsors can choose any amount to fit their budget. Free Canine Health Clinic
On Friday, April 1st, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Second Chance will be hosting a free canine health care clinic at the Fort Bragg Food Bank, 910 North Franklin St. Dogs belonging to low-income coast residents can receive rabies, kennel cough, parvo, distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and leptospirosis vaccinations and microchip identifications. They can also get a free simple vet exam, flea/tick repellent, and glucosamine tablets. Additionally, free collars, sweaters, toys, etc., will be available, as well as information about free puppy shots, spay/neuter, and nail clips. The Mendocino County Care-A-Van will be there with the vaccines, and Barbara Weiss, DVM, will be the volunteer veterinarian. The
Food Bank requires that face masks be worn on its premises, and dogs must be under control on a leash with each dog having its own handler. For more information, call 707-9647770.
“Whale of a Sale” Craft Fair
There will be a “Whale of a Sale” Craft Fair at
Town Hall in downtown Fort Bragg on Friday,
March 19, and Saturday, March 20, from 10:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. Town Hall is in the heart of the downtown business district of Fort Bragg, CA, where you’ll find most of the Whale Festival weekend activities. At the Town Hall craft fair, you will find a wide variety of amazing hand-crafted items, from quilts and toys to ironworks, pottery, knits and crochet, jewelry, paintings, tools, and puzzles. Town Hall is at the corner of Main and Laurel Streets in Fort Bragg, right across the street from the Masonic Hall Whale Craft Fair!
Local authors read from anthology
Eighteen writers will read short excerpts from their stories and poems selected for the annual Writers of the Mendocino Coast’s anthology. This year’s theme, Borders, was interpreted from a wide range of creative and thought-provoking perspectives. Sunday, March 20th at 3 p.m.Free and open to the public. League of Women Voters of Mendocino County
The League of Women Voters of Mendocino County will hold its March meeting on Tuesday,
March 22, at 4:00 pm. The program offers a special opportunity for a discussion with Donne Brownsey, chair of the California Coastal Commission. She will explain the responsibilities of the Commission and how it does its work. There will be time for questions. This program is an excellent chance for an examination of the Commission’s role in the ongoing development of the GP property in Fort Bragg.
