Pets of the week
Aspen is the new kid on the block at MCHS, but she has already made a significant impact on everyone here! Born in 2020, she is a super sweet girl who is always happy to see you. Aspen loves attention, which she always returns with appreciative eyes and a constantly wagging tail. Her positive spirit and joyful prance in the play yard will have you hooked. Aspen is the mom of our “Irish/March” litter (Clover, Dublin, Guinness, and Patty), so she is a very loving and nurturing soul. She is also great with other adult dogs and loves kids, as her last home was with a family and another dog. We don’t know for sure how she is with cats, but she seems uninterested every time she passes them. Aspen walks great on a leash and would make the perfect companion on any adventure- whether hiking, going to the beach, or just walking around the neighborhood. Take Aspen on a Borrow a Buddy field trip and see just what a special dog she is. We love having her here but hope she doesn’t stay long!
Cat: Martin, born in 2021, is a fan favorite here at the shelter. This slightly chunky adolescent cat has a delightfully fun, goofy personality with his stylish good looks. We love his permanent tuxedo. He is quite affectionate with people he knows, although he can be nervous around newcomers. Martin came to us as a tiny stray kitten in August. He was extremely shy at first but has been working hard on opening up and trusting people. He has come such a long way and is now ready to share his love with someone special. Martin is very playful and especially enjoys chasing the wand toys. He gets along well with the other cats and can often be found snoozing in the Kitty Cottage with Tuffy. We don’t know how Martin feels about young children or dogs yet, but he takes many things in stride, so he could be okay with careful introductions.
