First Presbyterian Church cancels Easter dinner

First Presbyterian Church of Fort Bragg cancels community Easter Dinner for 2023. For 24 consecutive years (minus a year for COVID in 2020) the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Bragg has held a community Easter Dinner. For the last several years it’s been a pick-up or delivered To-Go order. With change in the air for our church, we thought it was time to shake things up a bit. We wanted to re-consider how we can both celebrate one of the most joyous Christian holidays of Easter, while also giving back to our community in a different way.

For 2023 First Presbyterian Church of Fort Bragg is partnering with the Fort Bragg Food Bank and Clover Sonoma Dairy to provide the community with breakfast meal fixings. Our church has committed to collecting boxes of cereal, matched by Clover Sonoma with quart bottles of milk, over the month of March. All of this donation will be delivered on April 3rd to our local Fort Bragg Food Bank, who will be coordinating the distribution.

According to Larry Robinson, coordinator of this project, “Our goal is to provide a nutritious meal for the children of our community during the week before and after Easter.” Drive into our parking lot, look in the front windows, and see all the boxes of cereal already collected. If you are interested in supporting this community effort, please donate either cereal or $ to buy cereal. Drop your boxes of cereal by the church at 367 S. Sanderson Way, 10 am to noon or 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. Monday through Thursday, or place a check in our mail drop by the church front door.

ter Sunday (4/9) services are held at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Bragg at 10:00 am. We welcome any and all who wish to join us. And if you decide to attend our Easter Service, you will be in for a treat. This year our church is hosting an Easter

Sunday potluck after the service, which will offer fun and fellowship for all. Wishing you all a very happy Easter.

And as a reminder, though it’s less than eight months away, First Presbyterian Church of Fort

Bragg will continue to host its annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner. We are working with all our community partners to continue to build and increase our outreach. We know we can increase our last count of serving over 1,065 meals to our coastal community.
