Maryann Muncy

born, March 8, 1939 in Oswego, Kansas to Ling and Bertha Dudgeon, passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024 just eight days before her 85th birthday. Maryann married Delvin Murphy and had a son, Terry, before moving to California in 1958. They then had 4 more children Mike, Bob, Sandra and Nancy. She later moved to Fort Bragg in 1964, raising her 5 children while working at the Wharf for 41 years. It was at the Wharf that she made many friends, and amazing memories.

She married the love of her life, Jack Muncy, in 2006. They spent their years together traveling to Alaska, Mexico, and many other places, fishing along the way. Maryann never missed watching her favorite sports teams 49ers, Warriors, and Giants.

Maryann is survived by her sons Mike and Bob Murphy, her daughter Sandra Young, and her closest friend Terri Beranek. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Muncy, son Terry Murphy, daughter Nancy Barrett and grandson Joseph Anker. As well as many other wonderful family members and friends

Maryann, “Ma” was a loving supporting mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and friend to so many who loved and adored her dearly. Maryann’s home and heart were always open to everyone. She loved her many clocks and hummingbirds. When family and friends would stop by, she was always willing to lend a helping hand, a listening ear and playing a great game of cards. She will be missed dearly, but we all take comfort in the fact that she is together again with others whom she loved immensely.
