Banks Power introduces the newest product in its Derringer family of performance inline tuners for the ’17-’18 L5P 6.6L Duramax. The Derringer is said to add a tested best-in-class horsepower gain of up to 61 hp and best torque gain of up to 112 lb-ft. The Derringer is an easily concealed plug-and-play three-mode microcomputer control module. It’s designed for easy installation and is waterproof for underhood mounting. Features include Banks Autorate, Transcommand, and Activesafety to ensure safe power to the engine and drivetrain by reading the vehicle’s rpm, speed, gear, exhaust gas temperature, coolant temp, and more off of the OBD-II diagnostic port. This data is said to be utilized to provide both performance as well as increased safety and reliability. Combining the Derringer with Banks’ idash 1.8 Super Gauge allows you to select from a total of six power levels through the gauge and monitor up to 300 critical engine and tuner parameters.
