When you want to see Las Vegas, it’s best to head to the rooftops. Fans of desert vistas at sunset and 15,000 miles of neon look up to the highest perches in the city for jawdropping, picture-perfect views. Want to head upward? Here’s a look at the top five views of Las Vegas. Some of them are not meant for those with a fear of heights.
STRATOSPHERE
Shoot up to the top of the Stratosphere for dinner at Top of the World, the restaurant that sits 844 feet in the air. The Strat is the tallest building west of the Mississippi River, so the views of the Strip, and the entire Las Vegas Valley, are unrivaled. This can be quite a romantic place as well with a wine list that gets the nod from Wine Spectator. You can even take a nosedive from the top at SkyJump. There you’ll free fall at 40 miles per hour in about eight seconds. If you have the courage to open your eyes on the way down, you’ll see some amazing views of Vegas.
FOUNDATION ROOM AT MANDALAY BAY
It’s a world-class dining experience and a chic lounge all wrapped into two locales on the 64th floor of the Delano. Your views at Rivea looking north toward the Strip will give you a new perspective of the Las Vegas Strip. The restaurant run by French chef Alain Ducasse, and neighboring Skyfall Lounge, offer outdoor seating to get as close to the view as possible. We urge you to check out the bathrooms as well. Each features floor-to-ceiling windows in each of the stalls for a view while you relieve yourself.
Or try the Foundation Room on the top floor at Mandalay Bay. The 18,000-square foot “Members Only” Foundation Room overlooks the Strip as well. A portion of the membership fees to this exclusive, fine-dining area, which includes a lounge, a banquet room, a media center and several intimate dining spaces, supports the programs of The International House of Blues Foundation, the nonprofit arm of HOB Entertainment Inc.
EIFFEL TOWER EXPERIENCE
It may not be the real thing but it still has all the romance - and the views - of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The Eiffel Tower Experience atParis Las Vegas is half the scale of the original at 460 feet high. Take a ride to the top for 360-degree views of Las Vegas, including one of the most interesting ways to see the Fountains at the Bellagio from above. For something a little warmer in the cool months, stop by the Eiffel Tower Restaurant, located on the 11th floor, for Continental cuisine, an extensive wine list and another incredible view.
TOP OF THE PALMS
The open-air deck of Ghostbar gives you 180-degree views of the Strip. and Nove Italiano offers stunning views to go along with the scenery within.The French Alizé even has striking view of the Strip. Ghostbar, Nove Italiano and Alizé are all located at the Palms.
FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE’S SLOTZILLA
One of the newest attractions in Las Vegas takes you on a ride through the Fremont Street Experience from 60 feet up. Slotzilla features four lines that move you 800 feet through the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas. You reach speeds of 40 miles per hour while flying past the oldest casinos in the city. While you may be tempted to look up at the world’s largest LED screen above while videos play, we suggest looking down at the tourists below.
