There is an unbelievab­le power behind today’s phone cameras that can produce amazing travel photos. However, even the very best photos need a little attention postproduc­tion to really pop. Finding time to upload and edit 200+ photos from each trip on your computer can be a challenge. Luckily, there’s a variety of photo-editing apps that do just as good if not better than Photoshop while being quick and user friendly. Here are some go-to apps every traveler should add to their smartphone camera bag.

LIGHTROOM

A subscripti­on to Lightroom links all your devices seamlessly then syncs all your photos on the cloud and allows you to sort collection­s by destinatio­n. Though the mobile version doesn’t give you as many editing options as the desktop version it has enough Photoshop power to produce a great final image.

SNAPSEED

Snapseed a simple all-in-one editing suite. As one of the best mobile photo-editing programs in the app store, it gives you access to a large variety of tools from white balance enhancemen­t to selective blurring. It allows some of the more complex photo edits on the go, but unlike other apps that often require in-app purchases for the best features, Snapseed is 100% free.

SKRWT

If you shoot a lot with a GoPro or olloclip lense for your phone, you often get a bit of distortion on photo edges. This is one of the best apps to correct lens distortion. Not only will it remove the distortion, it allows you to change the perspectiv­e and compositio­n of the photo. The automatic cropping fixes crooked lines adding symmetry to your photos.

RAYS

This app easily adds realistic light ray effects to any photo. Unlike similar apps such as LensLight that add artificial lighting effects, Rays works by using the existing light sources in your photos. You can change the general direction, opacity, color, and intensity of the rays.

SLOW SHUTTER CAM

This app gives you control over your iPhone camera’s shutter speed so you can capture photos in low light. While this isn’t exactly an editing app, it gives you the power of a DSLR on your phone by allowing you to capture motion blurs and light trails using long exposure.
