The DeLorean DR-7 aircraft is the invention you hope will see the light of day. This fixed wing car/plane isn’t that far-fetched really and looks like an attractive piece of machinery.

Founder of DeLorean Aerospace, Paul DeLorean, took the wraps off this incredible vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) DR-7, a few months ago. It reminds us of how the Harrier jet can take off from a landing pad, making it perfect for tight quarters. It has what the company describes as an industry first, with centerline twin vectoring propulsion system. The DR-7 is a commuter plane with autonomous capabilities and with an expected top speed of 240 mph or 385 km/h which can seat two. One can only envision or dream of flying in something like this. It certainly brings back some of those feelings you once felt when the DeLorean car was featured in the hit movie Back To The Future.

This aircraft is expected to cost between $250$300k, according to eVTOL News.

The real estate market is ripe for residential air parks, and in much of the cases, the hangar is attached to the homes and often dwarfing the house. The DeLorean DR-7 would fit nicely into one of these communities if it ever sees the production stage.
