Neil Misra advances in New Hampshire primary
INDIAN AMERICAN Neil Misra has advanced to the Nov. 8 elections for a seat in the New Hampshire House of Representatives to represent Rockingham 25. He is among nine Democrats who cleared the Sept. 13 primary, as reported by The Eagle-Tribune. He received 8.7 percent of the votes and was in the last but one slot in the crowded field from the district, data released by The New York Times shows. Rockingham 25 is currently represented by Democrat Laura Pantelakos.
After graduating from Salem High School, Misra went to college at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he simultaneously interned for Rep. Annie Kuster (D-N.H.), according to his website. Following college, he completed his Master's degree at Oxford University, where he was elected Graduate Vice President of the Student Union.
Meanwhile, Indian American businessman and author Vikram Mansharamani fell short of his maiden campaign for the U.S. Senate from New Hampshire in the crowded Sept. 13 Republican primary. He came in fourth place with 7.6 percent of the votes, according to NBC Boston data.
