Mortifying Moments
I was pumped when I learned I got the lead in my school’s winter musical. I practiced for weeks, making sure I hit every move and every note. But one thing I didn’t practice was dancing and singing around the stage’s snowman props. On the night of the big performance, I was moving across the stage to get in position for my opening solo. The cord to my microphone somehow got tangled around my legs as I zigzagged between the props. I ended up tripping myself and slipped onto my back right as the curtain went up! Instead of belting out my solo, I let out a groan in pain. Believe me, my face was redder than Rudolph’s nose.
