Girls' World

Dear Girls’ World, I’m the only kid in my class who celebrates Hanukkah. It makes me feel left out. What should I do? — Odd girl out

No one likes to feel like the only one who’s different, and it stinks that you’re going through this. Have you told your parents and teacher how you feel? Maybe they could set up a time for your parents to visit your class to talk about the story Hanukkah and of your family traditions. This classmates way, your will get to know a little more about you and the holiday. If that makes you uncomfortable, try talking to just your closest friends about how you feel left out around Christmastime. They know you better than anyone and should be happy to talk about things that include you all equally!
