WHEN YOU’RE FEELING AWKWARD

“I think my biggest insecurity has always been just kind of feeling like I didn’t fit in or having trouble making friends with people if that makes sense,” Camila reveals. “I just felt weird or awkward.” Over the years, she’s learned to embrace her quirkiness and realized that she only wants to be around others who appreciate it, too!

WHEN YOU’RE AFRAID TO SPEAK UP IN CLASS

“You shouldn’t be afraid to ask questions in class,” Camila says. “Sometimes people can make you feel embarrassed, but my way of learning is to ask a lot of questions and then when I get it I’m like, ‘Oh, okay, I get it.’ But in order to get there I need help.”

WHEN YOU’RE INSECURE ABOUT YOUR PERSONALITY

“I have a loud personality, and sometimes I felt like I would come off so weird to the point where people were annoyed by me,” Camila shares. “So, I stopped saying what was on my mind for fear of people not clicking with it. Now I’ve gotten a lot better with it and feel like my loud personality is what makes me, me.”

WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE ALL EYES ARE ON YOU

It’s easy to get in your own head when you’re feeling less than confident. It seems as if everyone is going to notice if you make a wrong move, but Camila knows that isn’t the case. “Nobody else

is thinking about you as much as you think they are, nobody else is paying attention to you as much as you think they are or judging you as much as you think they are,” she explains.

WHEN YOU SECONDGUESS YOUR STYLE

It’s natural to feel like you have to wear the trendiest clothes, especially for a celebrity like Camila who’s photographed all the time, both in everyday life and at glamorous red carpet events. She used to feel pressure to look put-together and on trend all the time, but not anymore. “Sometimes on days off, I will literally just wear pajamas and put my hair in a bun, and if I’m going for a walk, I’ll just throw on some hoops,” she smiles.

WHEN YOU’RE FOCUSING ON YOUR FLAWS TOO MUCH

“Learning to be okay with the things you consider to be flaws — whether it’s your acne, your weight or your hair — really makes a difference in how you view yourself,” Camila says. “I think when you’re insecure and don’t feel good about yourself, then that bad energy transmits outward and ends up bringing you down, so that’s why it’s important to find beauty within the things that you don’t like. Once you do that, it changes everything.”

WHEN YOU NEED A CONFIDENCE BOOST

“I think how you feel on the inside reflects on the outside,” Camila dishes. “It happens all the time when you feel insecure and don’t feel right — that kind of energy transmits. You just need to repeat it to yourself because your mind is a powerful thing. You just need to say, ‘I look so good right now! Whoo, yeah!’ Then it’ll start to reflect how you feel.”
