SCIENTOLOGY poster boy Tom Cruise has lost his mojo and is blaming the sci-fi cult for ruining his life, insiders tell GLOBE in a world exclusive!
Top Gun Tom, 56, is embroiled in a midlife crisis — longing for lasting love and desperately trying to rebuild his relationship with 12-yearold daughter Suri, who has essentially been out of his life since he divorced her mom, Katie Holmes, in 2012!
Now, with no full-time woman in his life and his rep as a Hollywood heartthrob in tatters, Cruise is seriously weighing ditching the controversial church that’s controlled his life, insiders dish.
“Tom’s faith in the church and, everything it stands for, has been shaken to its core,” spills an insider.
“He lost his way after his Scientology beliefs drove Katie to divorce him and destroyed his relationship with Suri.
“The church has been allconsuming, controlling most of his life and making him an industry pariah.
“Tom never thought the day would come when he’d want to leave Scientology, but he’s considering doing just that!”
Sources say the Mission: Impossible action man hasn’t seen his little girl since the divorce — because his religion forbids contact with
family members who have deserted the faith.
The cult’s powerful grip has also put off potential galpals, who hesitate to date Tom, even though he’s worth an estimated $570 million, sources say.
Starlets are turned off by claims Scientology hand-picked Katie to marry him, wire-tapped his previous wife, Nicole Kidman, and cult officials vet his dates — which Tom and church bigwigs insist is untrue.
“They’ve reportedly set up casting calls with unsuspecting actresses who were told they were auditioning for a training film and then asked what they thought of Cruise!” dishes a spy.
“Also Tom’s got a reputation as a control freak who tells his wives what to wear and who to hang with.”
Tom has managed to
rekindle his relationship with Cher — more than 30 years after their steamy first fling, pals say. But insiders suspect it won’t
last.
“Even though Tom’s been dating Cher, it’s possible she just feels sorry for him,” snitches the insider.
“There’s no doubt that Tom’s hungry for a real romance and a lasting marriage to give his life more meaning, but women look the other way when he approaches.
“He’s worried he comes across as some creep.”
Tom’s also so determined to maintain his boyish good looks and stay on top of the Hollywood heap sources say he’s resorted to plastic surgery!
Although Tom insists he’s never gone under the knife, a mole claims: “Tom refuses to age gracefully — or naturally. People are whispering he’s had a face-lift and maybe even a neck-lift.”
Medical experts, who have not treated the Risky Business star, believe Tom may have also had hair transplants, tweaks to his nose, filler injections in his cheeks and dental work to improve his smile.
“Tom’s obsessed with his image as a global star. All that matters to him is his continued existence as an ageless movie demigod,” tattles a source.
“But despite the success of Mission: Impossible – Fallout, which has banked nearly $800 million at the global box office this year, Hollywood can’t stand him!”
The insider adds: “What Tom really wants is someone to love him and to be in his daughter’s life again.
“He’s at a difficult crossroads — with Scientology on one side and a fulfilling life on the other.”
