ABC begging fired sitcom queen to return after killing off her character ROSEANNE'S REVENGE!

-

BITTER after being fired from her own sitcom and publicly disgraced, troubled Roseanne Barr is getting the last laugh as desperate ABC brass are secretly begging her to come back and save their replacement show, The Conners, insiders dish.

“Execs are desperate to see Roseanne return because they know the show is doomed without her,” says an ABC insider.

“Some folks at the network believe they acted rashly, and now they want to see Roseanne come back in the worst way!

“And they’d pay her a boatload of money to do it.”

Roseanne is playing it cool, but admits it hurt to have her character killed off, sources say.

Viewers don’t like it, either. Critics have panned the Roseanne-free reboot — and 75 percent of the former show’s fans swear they won’t tune in now that she’s gone.

So regardless of the early ratings, network bigwigs are convinced the new sitcom will bomb unless she comes back, sources say.

They’re ready

“dream,” as was done for Bobby Ewing after Dallas fans went berserk when the character was killed off. Already, two senior level ABC executives confessed they regret Barr’s firing after she made racist comments about former Barack Obama aide Valerie Jarrett.

Roseanne immediately said her remark was a joke that was misunderstood. Now, the execs say axing her was a “knee-jerk reaction” by ABC’s president and admit temporarily suspending Barr may have been a wiser decision.

Her former castmates say doing the show is “awkward” without her, and Roseanne calls the way her character dies — via a drug overdose — a slap in the face to fans!

“They had to so cruelly insult the people who loved that family and that show. They had to cruelly insult them,” she says.

Now, producers are hoping to reverse the damage that’s been done by arranging Roseanne’s return.

“The network is ready to go to almost any lengths to bring Roseanne back,” says the insider, “and they’ll do whatever it takes to make it happen!”

Adds another source: “Roseanne’s gloating with the sweet taste of revenge.”
