SEINFELD legend

has suffered a devastating emotional blow with the overdose death of her younger sister, leaving friends fearing the heartbreak could derail the actress’ recovery from breast cancer.

The 57-year-old star of HBO’s current Veep sitcom had been crowing about her recovery from the disease following surgery and chemotherapy when she was clobbered by the news that half-sis Emma LouisDreyfus, 44, died from seizures triggered by an accidental overdose of booze and cocaine while camping in California’s South Yuba River State Park.

“This is obviously horrible news for Julia and potentially a huge setback in her physical recovery,” dishes an insider.

“She’s placed so much importance on positivity, which has been a key factor

“Many people believe this strong outlook is her secret weapon, and there’s no doubt it’s been achieved through living life as stressfree as possible.

“Now, all of a sudden there’s a huge influx of sadness and mind-blowing stress that’s got to be taking a toll.

“Poor Julia will be absolutely devastated at this news about her sister, and the worry is that it could plunge her into a dark and perilous place.”

While they had different mothers, Emma and Julia shared the same wealthy father, William LouisDreyfus, who was worth $3.4 billion and died at 84 in 2016.

Sources say Emma was worth $23 million and had just invested $4.5 million in a company she set up for producing legal marijuana.

Now, her shocking death has shaken Julia to the core, say sources.

“The worst-case scenario is that the stress could trigger a setback and take a toll on her health,” says the insider. “God forbid if that were to happen, because the ultimate nightmare would be for her recovery to be knocked aside.”
