MACHO MADSEN TOO WEAK TO WALK!
Fears tough guy working himself into early grave
MOVIE baddie Michael Madsen is fighting for his life! The Reservoir Dogs star, 61, looked frail and shaky as he was carted out of Los Angeles’ LAX airport in a wheelchair recently — and now, friends fear his days are numbered!
“Michael’s working himself to death,” spills a source. “He never turns down a role, no matter how small, and he’s stretched himself to the breaking point. It’s killing him!”
But the grizzled character actor says he can’t afford to slow down!
“Sometimes people forget that sometimes you have to pay the mortgage, sometimes you have to put your kids through school. You can’t always pick the greatest script,” says the father of six.
He’s wrapped four films and has another dozen in various stages of production, including Once Upon a Time in Hollywood with Kill Bill director Quentin Tarantino.
That’s despite a slew of health problems!
“I’d heard Michael had some benign tumors removed and he had some blood clots, which is why he may have had to use
the wheelchair. But he’s still pushing himself!” a source tells GLOBE.
The Hollywood pressure cooker reportedly caused Michael to collapse in late 2008 and be hospitalized on an involuntary psychiatric hold.
That came after the sixfoot-two, 190-pound bruiser was hauled out of a swanky London hotel after a blowup with his wife, DeAnna, in June 2008.
The brawny actor had also been fighting a losing battle with the bottle.
In September 2012, he was arrested on suspicion of DUI after he was spotted driving erratically in Malibu, according to L.A. County lawmen.
That same year, he was arrested on a felony charge of child endangerment with cruelty to a child after a boozy fight with his teenage son. He was later cleared.
But the source adds: “Michael has got to take care of himself — or else he’s headed for an early grave.”
