10 THINGS YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT EDDIE REDMAYNE
EDDIE REDMAYNE makes a magical return to the Harry Potter universe as creature-wrangling wizard Newt Scamander in the recently released Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Here are ten things you don’t know about the 36-year-old London-born actor. 1 He attended Eton College, where he was in the same graduating class as Prince William.
2 Before becoming a movie star, he was a model for luxury fashion house Burberry.
3 He prefers coffee over tea, but says, “I like it with a lot of milk and sugar.”
4 A fan of karaoke, he admits,
“At first I’m resistant, but after a few drinks I’ll get up and start singing — you have to rip the microphone out of my hands to get me to stop!” 5 His boozy drink of choice is a vodka tonic.
6 He dislikes horseriding. “While I was auditioning for the TV series Elizabeth I, I lied and said I could ride a horse. Two weeks later, I’m atop this massive black stallion. Let’s just say it didn’t go very well,” he recalls.
7 He’s color-blind. “I love art, and it’s irritating when you can’t relate to colors the way other people might when looking at paintings,” he says. 8 He married public relations executive Hannah Bagshawe — a friend from his school days — in 2014.
9 He says his most challenging role was playing physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, which won him a Best Actor Oscar.
10 He freaked out over meeting The West Wing’s Allison Janney because “it’s basically the only television show I’ve ever really watched, and I was obsessed with her.”
