QUEEN PUTS MEGHAN ON SHORT LEASH!

-

THE lovey-dovey relationship between Queen Elizabeth and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle isn’t all it’s cracked up to be!

Behind the scenes, the 92-year-old monarch firmly put the former actress in her place before the royal wedding, according to Buckingham Palace insiders — and is STILL keeping her on a short leash. Prince Harry sparked the tiff when he told staff, “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets.”

But that didn’t sit well with Her Majesty — who put her foot down when bride-to-be Meghan chose an emerald-encrusted tiara for her wedding day.

“Meghan had her heart set on this tiara with emeralds, and Harry hit the roof when they were told it was impossible for her to wear it,” dishes a royal source.

“The provenance of the tiara could not be established. There were concerns it could have come from Russia originally.

“There was a very heated exchange that prompted the queen to speak to Harry. She said, ‘Meghan cannot have whatever she wants. She gets what tiara she’s given by me.’”

Elizabeth also questioned why Meghan needed to wear a veil — a symbolic reference to the bride’s virginity — since it was her second wedding, adds the palace snitch.

“The message from the queen was very much that Meghan needed to be careful to follow family protocols.”

Other royals are also furious Elizabeth has included Meghan in her will — even though the former Suits star, 37, has been wed to her grandson for just a few months.

“The way some of them see it, Meghan will be inheriting money that should be theirs,” says the source.

The duchess’ cheapskate father-in-law, Charles, is one of the most outspoken protestors — and suspects his mother is being manipulated!

“Charles believes the queen should get to know Meghan more before making any rash decisions,” spills the insider. “Charles likes Meghan — but he adores cash more!”
