MICHAEL DOUGLAS FIGHTS FOR SOBRIETY
FATAL Attraction stud Michael Douglas admits he’s struggled to stay off drugs — and says his family DNA is an issue.
“I got sober. I was in rehab in 1991. Probably more alcohol but drugs were a part of it,” he confesses.
When asked if he stayed clean, the 74-year-old
Oscar winner says: “Not really. Everything is a question of moderations.
“You have to be careful of the fact that … I have had addiction issues in my family.”
His youngest half brother, Eric, died of an accidental drug overdose at age 46, and Michael’s son Cameron, 39, has battled drugs.
“My oldest boy was a heroin addict who spent sevenand-a-half years in a federal prison for a nonviolent drug offense. He is fine … But [with] genetics … you have to be careful.”
