FRASIER DAD MAHONEY’S NO-SEX SECRET

Globe - - THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES -

BRITISH-BORN John Mahoney found TV fame playing cranky, straight-talking dad Martin Crane on the hit series Frasier from 1993 to 2004, but died lonely and loveless.

Mahoney, 77, who passed away in hospice care in Chicago Feb. 4 from lung cancer, brain and kidney disease, and diabetes, hid his sex-free life from fans for over 30 years.

“I had cancer of the colon and I have a colostomy. I really couldn’t have sex after that,” he admitted.

Although he put on a happy face, he was heartbroken he’d never have a romantic partner in life.

“John had many friends but was very lonely,” says a friend.

Ailments made it impossible for John to have sex
