ADAD and his new wife are accused of being cruel monsters who tortured a nineyear-old girl as if she were a terrorist — waterboarding her as punishment!

Utah residents Joseph Mitchell, 29, and wife Ilaria, 28, now face child abuse charges for using the excruciating torture technique — forbidden by the U.S. military — on their young daughter, say Provo cops.

The girl revealed on three occasions her dad and stepmom bound her hands behind her back so she was helpless, held her down in the bathtub, put a towel over her face and ran water over it while she suffocated, police say.

“The nine-year-old stated she cannot breathe and it hurts when this happens,” says the police report.

Waterboarding was a torture used on terrorists to make them spill their guts until 2009, when it was banned by the U.S. government as being too cruel and ineffective for military use. However, America’s spy agencies are said to still use the procedure!

The girl’s shocking punishments were discovered when the father took her to Utah Valley Hospital to treat an injury.

Nurses noticed the binding marks on her wrists and, sensing something was terribly wrong, questioned the kid.

They were shocked by her waterboarding confession.

The girl also revealed other abusive punishments, including claims she was punched by her stepmother.

Since the arrest, the girl is being cared for by state welfare authorities.

Her biological mom, Brittany Calabrese, who lives in Texas, was devastated by the tale of cruelty.

“It was the hardest thing for me to hear having to be in Texas,” she says. “She’s nine, nine years old. That is torture of a child.”
