TRIUMPHANT JULIE’S SPOONFUL OF SUGAR!

-

JULIE ANDREWS is get-ting the last laugh as the Mary Poppins reboot —which threatened to steal her identity as the magi-cal nanny — turned into a box office turkey, sources dish. Shortly after opening, Mary Pop pins Returns, starring EMILY BLUNT, took in a mere $22 million while Aquaman, featuring JASON MOMOA, raked in $77 million! Now, Julie's glad she turned down a cameo and is delighted the remake isn't threatening her identity as Mary Poppins, spies say "Julie's feeling was they should have left well enough alone," snips a snitch. "You don't screw around with a classic like that! What's more, she thinks Blunt can't fill her shoes —and apparently so do movie audiences." Adding a spoonful of sugar to her sweet triumph, Julie had a part in Aquaman, voicing the octopus-like Karathen monster. "Julie knew Aquaman was going to be directly up against Mary Poppins Returns," notes the tattler "She was backing what she knew would be the winning horse. And, in the process, she was letting Emily Blunt know there's only one Mary Poppins."
