MARA WILSON: FAME HURTS!
AFTER a brief seven years as a child actor starring in the Robin Williams hit Mrs. Doubtfire and the 1996 fantasy film Matilda, Mara has carved out a career as a writer and journalist. A 2009 graduate of NYU, Mara, now 31, published a memoir, Where Am I Now? True Stories of Girlhood and Accidental Fame.
She quit acting at 13, saying: “I wasn’t as cute anymore. Producers didn’t know what to do with me.” Now, besides writing, she’s made a comeback with voice work on TV’s Big Hero 6: The Series.
