Ironic tattoo leads lawmen to rape suspect
ATATTOO proclaiming “family values” — and an inked swastika — helped police identify and arrest a savage thug accused of raping and stabbing a woman, Missouri cops say.
James Simpson, 26, was busted for the brutal Jan. 23 attack on a woman — whose name is being withheld — after she invited him into her home, according to charging documents.
The victim believed Simpson, of Springfield, Mo., was there to sell her drugs, authorities say.
When she confronted him about the dope, the evil creep punched her in the face, shoved her into her bedroom and choked her until she passed out, say cops.
Then the vicious brute cut off her clothes and raped her while holding a knife to her throat, police say.
The woman claimed Simpson cut her throat and stabbed her twice in the back, puncturing her right lung, according to the charging documents.
She escaped by crawling out of a window and running to a neighbor’s home for help.
She was taken to a local hospital and treated.
Based on the victim’s description of the attacker’s ink, a Springfield police officer was able to identify Simpson on Feb. 4 when the suspect was spotted on foot.
Simpson was arrested after a chase and jailed on six felony charges, including firstdegree rape. He’s being held on $250,000 bond.
