GOOD RIDDANCE WENDY WILLIAMS!

Fed-up staff wants Nick Cannon to take TV talker’s job

-

TV CHATTERBOX Wendy Williams is losing her talk show gig to Nick Cannon, snitch sources. The 38-year-old comic stood in for troubled Wendy on Feb. 4 and was a big hit among the recent string of fill-in hosts, including actor Jason Biggs and CNN’s Don Lemon.

“Nick got the biggest audience ticket request in years for the show,” a source dishes. “Early numbers for Nick look great.”

What’s more, Mariah Carey’s ex “wants the gig and producers love him.”

Even Wendy’s staff don’t want her — or her executive producer hubby Kevin Hunter — to come back, spill sources.

Now, Wendy, 54, is reportedly in a fight for her job along with her mental and physical health.

“It has been like a vacation having guest hosts,” says the source.

“Everyone is laughing and smiling and working together.

“We all got so used to walking on eggshells around Wendy and her husband that we had forgot what a fun work environment was like.”

As GLOBE has revealed, Wendy’s health took a dramatic plunge last year after we revealed Kevin had been cheating on her with sexy masseuse Sharina Hudson, 33, for a decade, which Kevin has denied!

She’s also been battling Graves’ disease, a draining autoimmune disorder linked to an overactive thyroid, and has admitted being a “functioning” cocaine junkie in the past.

The daytime diva suddenly took a leave of absence in late December after a string of bizarre incidents, including slurring her words on-air and mysteriously fracturing her shoulder. Her return was postponed three times — before she was spotted shopping at a CVS in South Florida late last month.

Now workers are rooting for Nick to get the gig, as “it looks like the show can survive without Wendy,” the source says.
