TWISTED COUPLE TORTURED PUPPIES
NEWLYWEDS Ellie Knoller and Jessica Kuncman are heartless monsters who adopted three adorable puppies over a two-week span and then beat and tortured them so savagely, two died and the third was at death’s door, New York cops charge.
Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas was sickened by the unspeakable cruelty, saying, “In my 28 years as a prosecutor, I have never seen a case where someone committed this kind of serial violence against different puppies.”
Gary Rogers, president of New York’s Nassau County Society for the Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), called the killings “serial murder of an animal.”
Lawmen say Knoller, 29, committed the bone-breaking, organ-bursting beatings while bride Kuncman, 30, watched the horror show.
They’ve been charged with torturing and injuring animals, with Knoller also accused of aggravated cruelty.
They’ve pleaded not guilty, but if convicted, he faces two years in the slammer and she one.
The savagery began on Feb. 8 when the couple adopted Shepherd mix puppy Tucker from North Shore Animal League and took him to their Mineola home, cops say.
Nine days later, Tucker was dead from internal bleeding due to a beating that ruptured a kidney, say officials.
The very next day, the couple bought Goldendoodle pup Cooper from a Pennsylvania breeder.
Three days later, Cooper was dead from brutal abuse, according to police.
Then on Feb. 22, Knoller got Bella, Cooper’s litter mate, from the breeder.
Bella was beaten savagely, suffering broken ribs, bones and a pulmonary contusion, requiring $18,000 in medical care, say SPCA officials.
The judge released the couple without bail, but had their passports taken and banned them from having pets — even a goldfish!
Singas was baffled by the alleged abuse, saying, “Maybe it’s some kind of sick sport.”
