William & Kate furious over being upstaged by Harry & wife Meghan
AROYAL rift is ripping apart Princess Diana’s sons, as William and his wife, Kate, are fuming over the Hollywoodstyle publicity grab launched by Harry and his TV actress wife, Meghan, palace insiders say.
Used to snaring media attention, former Suits babe Meghan is missing no chance to make a publicity splash — turning her pregnancy and birth of son Archie into TV triumphs on both sides of the Atlantic. Meghan is also delighting in magazine pieces about her fashions, makeup and new life.
But the final straw, a palace courtier says, was talk the American beauty was planning a shocking media stunt — to be the first royal mom EVER photographed breastfeeding!
“By comparison, her recent attention-grabber — the CBS special Meghan and Harry Plus One — is incredibly tame,” says the courtier. “But the duchess broke every royal rule to secretly cooperate with the show, which was an outrageous breach of the royal privacy policy.”
However, Meghan’s learned from her Hollywood days to strike while you’re hot.
She and Harry continued to fuel the public’s ravenous interest with the debut of their @RoyalSussex Instagram account.
In less than six hours, the account had an astronomical 5.1 million followers.
On it, they posted seven wildlife photos taken by Harry during their New Zealand visit — with Meghan cleverly timing their release on Earth Day.
“Before Meghan, Harry learned to low-key himself following some of his wild, youthful antics and shameful partying that ended up embarrassing his family,” notes a royal insider.
“But Hollywood’s trained Meghan to seek publicity, and she’s using every opportunity to get her face and Harry’s in the media.”
This upstaging behavior has infuriated his older brother, who’s heir to the throne, and his wife, Kate, triggering a furious royal feud.
“Until Meghan snared Harry, Kate was the media darling,”
dishes the insider. “Her pictures splashed across newspapers and magazines daily and her every move was reported on.”
The feud is turning into a shoot-out, with William and Kate desperately trying to fight back.
Just hours after Meghan and Harry released neverbefore-seen wedding photos to coincide with their first anniversary on May 19, William and Kate put out private family pictures of them and their three kids.
“It was a case of anything you can do, I can do better,” says a royal insider.
“Meghan and Harry may win a few battles, but make no mistake about it — the future king and his wife will win the war!”
