Baby granddaughter fighting for her life
DEVASTATED Marie Osmond is reeling from yet another family tragedy — the life-or-death struggle of her newborn granddaughter.
Now, friends are worried the new emotional blow could push the songbird over the edge!
The 59-year-old Paper Roses singer begged fans on Twitter to pray for the infant, who’s recovering in a Utah hospital following complications with her May 23 birth. After the child was rushed into the ICU Marie wrote: “Asking for prayers for my precious granddaughter born this evening 6 lbs 10 ounces.”
Little Maude BaileyMoon is Marie’s first grandchild born to the star’s daughter Brianna Blosil Schwep, 21, and her
husband, Dave, 42. The tyke has been struggling for life after being delivered ten days late.
Although Marie later posted to social media that the baby is doing better and thanked her fans for their prayers, friends fear the new heartache — coupled with the November death of Marie’s nephew Troy, 33, in November — will plunge her into despair.
The star battled back after her son Michael, then 18, threw himself from a highrise window in 2010 after struggling with drugs and depression.
“Everyone is terrified this might be just too much for her to bear!” spills a source.
The songbird also recently split with brother Donny, 61, following years of performing together, and their younger sibling Jimmy, 55, is still fighting to recover from a stroke in January.
“Marie has been through so much with the suicide of her son, the death of her nephew Troy last November and baby brother Jimmy’s stroke,” the source spills.
“Marie’s heart has been broken so many times, people are praying that this child fully recovers — not just for the baby’s sake — but for Marie’s!” adds the source.
