HARRY’S SHOWDOWN WITH THE PRESIDENT,

Prince confronts prez over insult to wife Meghan

-

FURIOUS Prince Harry secretly confronted Donald Trump over the president’s shocking public insult of his wife, Meghan — sparking a crisis that rocked the palace!

GLOBE has learned in a blockbuster world exclusive the 34-year-old royal hothead refused to hold back after Trump called the Duchess of Sussex “nasty” just days before his official visit to the U.K.

“Harry told close pals he was determined to defend his wife and have it out with Trump,” says a high-level palace source.

“People tried to stop him, but he wouldn’t listen.

“He was seething the president dissed Meghan for her 2016 remarks blasting him as misogynistic and divisive and threatening to move to Canada if he was elected.

“The shocking showdown took place away from the cameras that recorded part of Trump’s visit to

Buckingham Palace.

“Harry apparently confronted the president at the end of the private lunch thrown by the queen and senior royals.

“He approached Trump and said, ‘How dare you insult my wife! You should be ashamed of yourself!’ “Harry’s feelings were clear at an after-lunch tour of Her Majesty’s private art collection. He refused to be photographed with Trump or any of the American visitors.

“At the first chance, he bolted — heading to the gym, where he worked out his anger for 90 minutes.

“Meghan, who gave birth to their first child, Archie, in May, boycotted Trump’s three-day visit, using maternity leave as an excuse to avoid the commander in chief she clearly detests.”

Trump, 73, later confirmed he met and spoke to Harry at Buckingham Palace but dismissed suggestions the Duke of Sussex snubbed him, insisting, “No, just

the opposite. He couldn’t have been nicer!” Trump also denied insulting Meghan, saying she was “nice” and he hoped she’d “succeed” in her royal role.

But Harry wasn’t buying it. The president’s attack on exSuits star Meghan, 37, was the last straw for the new dad, who is ultra-protective of his wife.

“He can’t forgive the real estate tycoon for relentlessly stalking his late mother, Princess Diana, after she and Prince Charles split in 1992,” reveals another palace source.

“Lovestruck Trump bombarded the People’s Princess with massive bouquets of flowers and always seemed to know where she was headed so he could suggest they meet there. “It gave Diana the creeps! “Trump also publicly attacked Prince William’s wife, Kate!

“When a French photographer illegally snapped pictures of her sunbathing topless in a private home in 2012, Trump fired off tweets saying SHE was at fault! ‘She shouldn’t be sunbathing in the nude — only herself to blame,’ he wrote.

“Frankly, the royals are not fans of the brash U.S. president.”

But 93-year-old Queen Elizabeth ordered her entire family to put on a diplomatic show of royal welcome.

“When she learned Harry secretly confronted the president, she was furious,” says the source.

“Harry was hauled on the royal carpet and told it’s his duty to support the queen — and his country — no matter his personal feelings. He was ill-mannered and rude — and warned it must not happen again!

“Her Majesty is already threatening to exile Harry and Meghan over their demands to go it alone and thumbing their noses at royal rules and protocol.

“Harry’s behavior just sparked an intense new palace crisis.”
