Frail TV icon dumps wife No. 7 for the SECOND time
WHILE fighting for his life following heart surgery, former CNN talk star Larry King is finally kicking seventh wife Shawn Southwick to the curb after a stormy 22-year marriage was shredded by charges of cheating.
The ailing 85-year-old, who has sons Chance, 20, and Cannon, 19, with the 59-year-old singer-TV host, filed for divorce in L.A. on Aug. 20, charging his wife with elder abuse.
“Let’s just hope he gets divorced before he dies,” says a source close to the family.
“Everyone will be very happy if he actually leaves her and comes through this alive.”
As GLOBE reported,
the bickering pair previously accused each other of cheating in 2010.
His 26-years-younger wife reportedly plunged into a steamy affair with their sons’ hunky baseball coach.
Meanwhile, she accused Larry of trysts with her younger sister, Shannon Engemann, now 55.
Shannon denied the affair, saying Shawn was angry because King had gifted her with a $160,000 Mercedes.
“I did not have an affair with Larry. He’s been like a father to me,” she insisted.
Larry admitted a “flirtation” with Shannon but said, “I never made love to her,” adding that he couldn’t if he’d wanted to because he was impotent.
Larry and Shawn filed for divorce that year then reconciled.
Just last April, King had a heart procedure when docs inserted stents to unclog blockages.
The crackerjack interviewer has also been battling cancer since 2017, when he had a lung removed.
Meanwhile, Shawn has been caught carrying on with a notorious Don Juan and shamelessly bad-mouthing her hapless hubby in a series of sexfilled text messages.
