RESEARCHERS warn that tiny metal particles from tattoo needles can leach into your body — and maybe even kill you!
These iron, chromium and nickel particles are joined by certain ink pigments — which can also infiltrate the body and turn that trendy tattoo into a poison-pen letter!
The new study says these wayward metals might be responsible for the sometimes deadly allergic reactions some people have after getting tats.
Researchers were looking for the link “between iron, chromium and nickel and the coloring of the inks,” says study author Ines Schreiver.
And then, “after studying several human tissue samples and finding metallic components, we realized that there must be something else.
“Then we thought of testing the needle and that was our ‘eureka’ moment!”
